On March 7, 2025, the intersection of sustainability and profitability in architecture took center stage as AluK, a global leader in aluminium window and door solutions, participated as the associate partner for Architects & Interiors, Design & Debate – Indore Edition. Held at The Park, Indore, the event brought together industry veterans and emerging voices to explore the complexities of balancing environmental responsibility with economic viability.
Setting the tone for the debate, Sonali Bhagwati, President of DPA, delivered a keynote address that framed sustainability not as an afterthought but as an essential pillar of forward-thinking design. The debate, curated by Manish Kumat, Principal Designer at Manish Kumat Design Cell, drew insights from a distinguished panel of experts. Among them were Abhishek Julka, Principal Architect at Architect Abhishek & Kuldeep Julka; Ravisha Merchant, Principal Designer at Trivera Designs; and Paresh Kapade, Principal Architect at Environmental Design Consultants. Their debate delved into the challenges of integrating sustainability into contemporary architectural practice without compromising profitability, a dilemma shaping the future of the industry. Recognizing the contribution of industry leaders to the discourse, Shilpa Chauhan, CMO & Head of Business Development at AluK, felicitated the panellists with mementoes.
The conversation extended beyond established voices, as a Next-Gen Panel introduced fresh perspectives from the industry’s rising talent.
