On December 14, 2024, AluK India participated in Design Debate—Bhubaneshwar Edition, a defining dialogue in the field of design that addressed two distinct architectural paradigms: Monumental Architecture, which focuses on grandeur and historical relevance, and Inclusive Architecture, which emphasises accessibility, diversity, and community integration. The event highlighted the crucial role of design in responding to the diverse needs of contemporary society.
The panel featured prominent figures in the Indian architectural landscape, including Mousumi Nanda, Vice Chairperson of the IIA Odisha Chapter and The Architects; Akshay Beuria, Principal Architect & Partner at Designers Forum and National Secretary of the Indian Institute of Architects; and Debendra Kumar Parida, Principal Architect at Space Arch, among others. The session was moderated by Swopnadutta Mohanty, Chairperson of the IIA Odisha Chapter Executive Committee member, CoA Managing Committee Member, IIID.
Mr. Subhendu Ganguly, Managing Director of AluK India, delivered a key presentation on the integral role of aluminium in architectural solutions. His remarks reinforced AluK’s dedication to sustainability, energy efficiency, and its transformative approach to designing spaces that are both highly functional and aesthetic. During the event, Mr. Ganguly also took the opportunity to felicitate the esteemed panelists and moderators for their invaluable contributions to the debate. Vivek Singh Rathore, Partner and Principal at Salient Kolkata, delivered the keynote address. Rathore set the tone for the evening’s discussions. Following this the debate provided valuable insights into the evolving relationship between architecture and society, with discussions surrounding the balance between creating iconic, monumental structures and designing inclusive spaces that reflect modern societal values. Through its participation, AluK reaffirms its position as a future-focused brand dedicated to advancing architectural design.
